SMS Consent and Phone Verification Example

This public page is provided for messaging provider review. It shows how eGift separates optional promotional SMS consent from one-time security phone verification.

Customers are not required to opt into promotional text messages to register, use their wallet, add gift cards, add funds, or send gifts.

I agree to receive optional promotional text messages from eGift. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. This is optional and not required to use eGift services.

The promotional SMS checkbox is separate, optional, and unchecked by default.

2. Security Phone Verification Before Wallet Actions

Before adding a gift card, adding funds, or sending a gift to a friend, eGift requires a verified phone number to protect the wallet.

Used only for account security and wallet verification.

By clicking Send Code, you agree to receive a one-time text message from eGift to verify your phone number for account security. This does not opt you into marketing messages.

The customer must take the distinct action of clicking Send Code before a one-time security verification text is sent.

3. Data Sharing Statement

We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile information may be shared only with service providers who help us deliver our services, such as messaging providers used to send verification codes.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
